  Thangka Painting Demonstrations
  Tate Room, Michael C. Carlos Museum, Emory University
March 17-April 3, 2009
   
  Tenzin Norbu, Norbulingka Institute’s master thangka painter and teacher, will be demonstrating this traditional style of religious painting in the Tate Room five days a week (Tuesday-Saturday). He and Dolmakyap Zorgey, Norbulingka’s Deputy Managing Director, will be available to answer questions. DVDs on Tibetan arts and thangka painting will be on view in the hallway outside the Tate room. A number of fine thangkas will also be displayed, some of which will be for sale.
   
  Public Schedule
  • Tuesday-Friday, 10:00-1:00 pm & 3:00-5:00 pm
  • Saturday, 1:00-5:00 pm
   
  Emory Class Sessions
  Emory University faculty members may schedule their classes to meet with and observe Mr. Norbu and Mr. Zorgey on Mondays, March 16, 23, and 30 by contacting Andi Satterfield by phone at 404-727-4280 or by email at asatte2@emory.edu
