Since the Emory-Tibet Partnership was founded in 1998, it has been committed to bringing together the best of the Western and Tibetan Buddhist intellectual traditions for their mutual enrichment and the discovery of new knowledge for the benefit of humanity. With the strengthening of this Partnership through the active participation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, this bridge between the two traditions offers an even more exciting range of conversations, discoveries and knowledge that may benefit individuals and society. In October, 2007, His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Emory and was installed as Presidential Distinguished Professor. Full videos and photos of this historic event and the conferences, summits and teachings with His Holiness are available for viewing at www.dalailama.emory.edu and www.drepung.org. On January 7, 2008, His Holiness presided over the inauguration of the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative with an Emory delegation at Drepung Loseling Monastery in Mundgod, India. We are pleased to announced the 2013 return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Presidential Distinguished Professor, to Emory University on October 8-10 2013.
